Greetings
new Tigers!
My
name is Rauncie Ryan and I am your Assistant Dean of Graduate Student
Success. I want to extend a hearty
welcome to you and invite you to come by my office anytime for a cup of coffee
and some conversation. I am so glad to
hear that you will be joining us at RIT for the Spring Semester. I look forward to meeting you.
I
wanted to touch base with you about some very important events you will want to
attend at the end of this week.
First
of all there will be a resource fair Thursday January 22nd in the Fireside
Lounge, located in the Student Alumni Union between 1pm-5pm. Come to the Office of Graduate Studies sign
in table to get signed in and get your cool RIT swag. This is only for new incoming graduate
students. Be prepared to show your
student ID.
Secondly
on Friday January 23rd at 9 a.m. in Ingle Auditorium in the Student
Alumni Union there will be an orientation for Mycourses. You will need to know how to navigate
Mycourses to get your syllabus for classes and to be able to turn in work for
some classes. Following the Mycourses
orientation all graduate students will stay in Ingle from 9:30 – 11 a.m. for an
orientation by the Office of Graduate Studies.
You will get to meet those wonderful people in Graduate Admissions who
helped you through the process of applying and then they will pass the torch to
me and I will be sharing tips about how to navigate your time here at RIT. You will also get to meet some key people
from RIT offices that will be very helpful to you who will be our special
guests for orientation. In addition those who attend this orientation will have
a nice surprise at the end. I hope to
see you there!
