Introductory Teaching Skills Workshop for Graduate Students

You must be able to attend both half day sessions on Thursday, January 22, and Friday January 23rd 2015,  9:30 am -1:30 pm, LOW(12)-1135
The Office of Graduate Studies, in collaboration with teaching experts at the College of Applied Sciences and Technology (CAST) is offering a series of two workshops introducing graduate students to basic teaching skills.  The workshops are open to all graduate students at RIT and are an experimental pilot exercise aimed at designing a training process that will thoroughly prepare graduate students to be effective teachers.  The workshops are designed to be independent from specific course content, and focus on pedagogy, instructional design and related topics. 
Registration is limited to 35 students. 
Because we anticipate that these workshops will be oversubscribed, we ask that if you need to cancel, let us know as soon as possible.
These courses are supported by the Office of the Provost.

Greetings!
Time is flying by and we are almost to Thanksgiving week.  Before you know it the semester will be over.  I have a great workshop for you this week.
Are you a TA or have an interest in working with other students or teaching when you graduate?  The workshop we are offering this week will help you with communicating with students of different cultures. This workshop is part of a series of workshops we will be offering for TA’s and those interested in being TA’s.
